Our GSP needs to burn more energy than what my walks can provide. She was initially quite reluctant to get on it, but after a few days, she is now getting the hang of it.
I still need to stand right in front of her with an occasional treat, but today she ran three sessions a yotal of 40 minutes (~1.5 miles altogether). 5 mph are no issue, and we will work our way up.
The treadmill seems very sturdy and is intuitive to use. Very happy with the purchase.

The Dog Pacer has helped me on days the weather is less than desirable to be outside. My 9 month old Husky needs miles of exercise per day and this helps me meet that need. I'm sure some dogs would struggle with this -my former boy being that dog- there's no amount of training or treats that would have convinced him to get on it-but thankfully the puppy was trained on it at his daycare so the transition to using it at home has been pretty seamless. I'd say it's important to know your dog and what they would be amenable to. Does he get bored after about 20 minutes and try to get off? Yes, but he's learning to deal with boredom and I don't have super high expectations right now. Very few dogs would be pros right out of the gate. I'd suggest watching some YouTube videos to get your dog started. The Dog Pacer website has some very short videos as well. The instructions were pretty clear putting this together, although the belt had a serious crimp in it from being folded in the shipping box. It was loud and obnoxious every time the crimped area cycled through the track. A hair dryer set to hot and a heavy textbook fixed that issue within a couple of days. You'll definitely need space for this, as it's longer than a human treadmill, but does have wheels to move it around. Leaving the dog alone on it isn't really a safe possibility either, so it's something to keep in mind. I put my chair in front of it and turn on a podcast while he's pacing. Ordering from Canine Athletes was a superb experience. This was on backorder when I placed my order and they were very communicative about the delays and kept me informed. They worked to get me the Pacer as soon as possible and I honestly couldn't be more impressed by their customer service. A+ in a world of chat bots and overseas customer service; the company was amazing to deal with and I won't hesitate to order from them again for other needs!
